Description of Significance TYPICAL OF MANY SMALL TOWNS IN THE WHEAT BELT, SMALL FLOUR MILLING OPERATIONS WERE STARTED TO SERVE THE AREA. OKEENE FLOUR MILL WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1901. UNLIKE MANY SMALL MILLS, OKEENE FLOUR MILL SURVIVED THE DEPRESSION AND THE CHANGING TASTES AND NEEDS OF CONSUMERS. IT CONTINUES TO OPERATE AS A STORAGE FACILITY. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 11/7/76.
